In the 2026 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Election, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) contested solo across all 234 assembly constituencies and won 108 seats in the General election, subsequently gaining 2 seats in the October 2026 By-Elections (Madurantakam & Dharapuram) to reach 108 + 2 = 110 total MLAs. As the lead ruling party, TVK formed the Secular Social Justice Victory Alliance (SSJVA / மதச்சார்பற்ற சமூகநீதி வெற்றிக் கூட்டணி) with INC (5), IUML (2), VCK (2), CPI (2), and CPM (2) to command a 123-seat majority (comfortably above the 118 threshold) and establish the 17th Tamil Nadu Government under 22nd Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay.
